Congratulations, Steve! That's an amazing accomplishment. I hope to get there some day. :)
:D That would've made for an interesting night!
Uwe,
Thank you! I *thought* I saw the cone, it was where it's supposed to be, but unfortunately my observing partner had gone to sleep, and I couldn't ask him to verify. Perhaps I was mistaken....
Norman,
I don't think I noticed it, but my memory has faded. I need to revisit it and verify.

My own logged observation was made in January 2017 under bad conditions - terrible seeing in a bortle 4+ sky. My short note reads - " Large, bright, and very elongated". I need to revisit this object...
Thank you, Akarsh.

NGC7702,
The sky quality in and around Bangalore is terrible these days. We have been observing from a friend's farm around 130 kms from Bangalore for the past couple of years, but even that...

Hello DSF,
This is my first report on this forum. Thanks to Akarsh and Sanath for suggesting that I post my observing reports here.
I had a chance to go observing last weekend to a dark site...

I managed to observe both of these features a couple of nights ago with my 16", though they looked more reddish/rust colored to me. I hadn't noticed these earlier, and didn't know what I was looking...
Yes, that was indeed a very nice observation. I later came across a photo of Leo I showing the exact size/orientation as we did.
