Hi Dragan,
exact for the "Airline-traveller-design" i bought the scope, loved the scope and miss the 8 incher right now:-)
But: i enjoyed selling it to you and really be happy that you like my old...
I also like this Group very much and observed it quite often with different apertures over the last years.
Last year i used my old 10 inch GSO at Edelweissspitze in the alps and tried the Group...
Preston,
i observed G2 some years ago with my 15 inch Obsession under good (but not perfect) conditions in the austrian alps.
G2 was visible, but not more than a very faint "star"; averted vision...
Correction: G2 and G273 are located in Pisces - maybe not the right place to describe them here!
Sorry for that.

Hi Jimi, dear all,
nice objects - i really like GC in nearby Galaxies.
I observed G1 two time over the last years with 15 inches (350x) and also 10 inches (220x). In both cases the GC was easy with...
Tony,
Plan to visit Southwest of US in 2014, TSP hopefully the year after.
Australia would indeed interesting, i have never been there.
Long way from Germany, but i will add on my "Must see-list"....
Jimi and Tony, i agree totally.
I enjoyed observing in West-Texas (with really big scopes), but enjoyed much more meeting friends, making new ones and the overall relaxed and nice atmosphere of TSP....
Jimi,
i remember well observing this interesting object with your telescope last week.
Uwe, Frank and i were very impressed of it and asked ourselves the same question: could we see it with Jerry...
Two friends of mine will be there from Sunday to Friday...really looking forward to meet you!
Marc
Alvin,
thank you very much for this great observing guide.
Since years i use your published guides and i agree with Mark - i can not thank you enough for your work!

Hi Jimi,
also one of my favourite super thins!
I several time observed it with 15 and 16 inches. Very thin, indirect quite long and the northern part is a bit brighter (direction to the nearby...
I forgot your two points collimation and cool down time, because i never think about it.
Honestly, collimation is normally not necessary with a solid truss dobson (i check it every time) and for me...
Interesting question. Since i own my 24" dobson i ask myself same question about the "optimal" second scope. Personally i am sure you need for several reasons a smaller scope, if you need to travel...
Very cool scope, Jimi.
I often remenber the great days in West Texas.
Where is Black Betty at home right now?

Hu Jimi, platform is also made by Tom O.
It was built in 2010 and i used it last two years with my 15 inch Obsession.
Was a bit big for the 15incher but the plan was to make it work with both...
Good chance for me to present my new 24" f3.3 made by Tom Osypowski. Very well made with a fine mirror by Mike Lockwood.
Picture shows the happy owner after first light session last month in the...
Hi Jimi,
Cassiopeia A with 10 inches.
I failed last month, but it should be possible.
Marc
Jimi, nice group also for small scopes: i observed last month all 5 members with my 10 inch Dob. No problem the see them, but i could not split NGC 704 in two parts. With my (recently sold) 15 inch...
Hey Joe,
nice scope for these "ultra dark skies". I observed with an 15inch f4.5 Obsession for more than 10 years and my favourite EP was the Ethos 13mm - so this one will be a good choice.
I have...
Hi all,
great object and a real challenge for me and my 15inch obsession last year. UGC 12281 under quite good conditions (bavarian alps/4000ft/NELM 6.5) was very faint and very thin. Magnification...
Hi all,
indeed a nice galaxy pair for medium sized scopes. I observed it last autumn with 10" and Ethos 10mm (125x), NELM about 6. Both galaxies in the same field of view. No details in 10" under...
I also observe in average twice a month (mostly at dark sites about minimum 100 miles from my house). Additionally i observe a bit during my family vacation (most times i take a 8" travel newton with...
I observed the cluster yesterday with my 10"f5 under good skies (transparency 7/10, seeing good, SQM 21,4 mag/sec2 and about 60% humidity). Cluster was quite faint but with averted vision i could see...
Hi Victor,
i also use Eye and Telescope since several years now. IMO it is very user friendly and allows 1. adminstration of Astro-Projects; observing planning (nice: it gives you an feeling how...
Lou,
I do observe quite similar objects you do with my 15 incher-
hicksons and flat galaxies,
Just finished my Herschel 400 Project, which was real fun with my smaller 8 incher i used for about...
