Am 1337-292 is a chain of 5 galaxies just East of M83. This object has been on my list for a long time and last night I gave it a go. I was able to ferret out 6 galaxies although Arp and Madore only list 5 in the chain. My best view this night was at 697X. MegaStar list the Mag's from 15.5 to 16.5 but I am not to sure how accurate it is? I really like galaxy chains and this is a really nice one.

I suspect that two galaxies might be visible in an 18".

Jimi, what is the 6th galaxy you're referring to?
