My notes from September 14, 2013 observing from my backyard (limiting magnitude +5.8) with an 18-inch Litebox at 295x:

“This object is small, but pretty high in surface brightness; a well defined spindle oriented N/S, even surface brightness, with two field stars bordering to the WSW. This is actually a double galaxy, very likely Swift’s NGC 1128 and the principal object in the Abell 400 galaxy cluster. At least two or three additional galaxies should be visible. Re-observe!”

Six years later, I still haven’t been back.
