    New Nebula?

    Someone posted on Cloudy Nights what appears to be an un-catalogued nebula. Looks like a big planetary or SN remnant. I will be out tonight with my 25" and will give it a go.

    The DSO is at RA 13 42 29 DEC +4 50 57 In Virgo.

    It shows up fairly well on the blue plates but not at all on the red or IR. It is partially involved with the 7.8 mag star HD 119215. NGC 5261 is nearby.

    This may be an artifact. I cannot find it on any other images. I'll take a look anyways.

    I could not see a trace of it on the SDSS server or the PanSTARRS server. Both of these surveys are much deeper than the POSS 2.
