Makani Galaxy

My friend Dave Tosteson ask me to take a look at this unusual AGN galaxy. The name Makani is from Hawaii it means wind. The object was found by the Keck telescope in Hawaii thus the name. This small AGN has a huge galactic wind that extends 100 KPC out from the galaxy. It has a Z=0.4589 which gives it a light travel time of 4.788 GYR.

Last night I observed this small faint galaxy it was small and I called it extremely extremely extremely faint
At 813X it would pop in occasionally for approximately three seconds at a time. I was switching back and forth from 976X to 813X But it made little difference it would only appear for a few seconds at a time. I was pleased to catch the light from this 19.3 mag galaxy.

Jimi, you definitely need a bigger scope. I would take your old 48-inch, when you don't need it anymore, deal?
