All New TeleVue and Lumicon now in stock at EyepiecesEtc.com

We recently received all the new focal lengths of TeleVue Delos eyepieces (yes, they're on sale, too), as well as
all the Lumicon Nebula and color planetary filters.
I know that especially Lumicon filters have been hard to get for a while.

    Don,

What is the status of Lumicon?

I know there was some speculation that they were going out of business. Are the filters you have in stock new production?

Lumicon was purchased by Marc and Debbie Neveux, and they have kept all the same personnel and equipment.
The ones I have are current production, which is no different than before, so of the same standards and quality.
It will take time for them to produce every item in the Lumicon catalog, but many things are in stock now.
The color filters, imported from Japan, are a little scarce for certain popular colors, but most of them are available too.

Unfortunately, the parent, Scope City, is closing on November 1. They currently have one storefront still open
and it will close in a few days, ending 33 years of operation.

This is sad news. The Costa Mesa store of Scope City was within walking distance from the home I stay every time I visit CA. I would always pay them a visit, if only for a chat... How about Parks Optical, I think they are associated with Scope City. Are they also closing down? My very first telescope was a Parks 60mm refractor, given to me as a gift from my late uncle who lived in Costa Mesa....

I do not know about Parks, but it was on a skeleton crew when I left Scope City in early February.
The people who worked there seem to be working at Lumicon now, so I am not certain of the status of Parks.

So you worked at SC... The guy I got to know at Costa Mesa was Mike Choi. On my last visit I was accompanied by my wife and my cousin, the latter ended buying a whole Meade LS-8 as a gift for her husband!

Mike was a good guy. He left SC near the end of 2011 to go into another type of business.

Anyway! During my next CA visit (it will happen sooner or later) I will arrange to pay you a visit to get to know you in person! I enjoy meeting people in person.... I'll keep you posted!
