As much as it pains us, we need some rules. To start, these rules will be liberal and loosely implemented BUT they will also be very typical of an online forum. We are confident that they will rarely be enforced and that we will spend most of our time on DSF.com concentrating on the reason we came here, deep sky observing. After all we're all adults here and we will all be treated as such.
But we do need to lay some basic forum rules....
The Absolute No-No's: Name calling, provoking someone into arguing for the sake of arguing, religious/political debates, gripes with a vendor, vendor/product bashing, spamming, trolling, These will not be tolerated in the slightest and any post/topic depicting such will be quietly deleted. Any moderation will be taken privately. Repeated offenders will be banned.
If you were to have an issue with a vendor regarding services or products, please contact that vendor privately.
Vendors, we encourage product advertisement and announcements. Please keep us all informed on your hard work towards product development. Remember, DeepSkyForum.com is sponsored and hosted by Dark Skies Apparel, LLC. As a vendor ourselves, we get it. All we ask is that our registered users are not targeted for unsolicited private messages. If you want to get your message out, please do it in the Vendors Forum NOT as PM's.
So that's it for now. We're sure these rules will be modified and adjusted as we grow. So check back regularly.
But before I go, I guess it boils down to this. Two simple rules:
1. Play nice
2. Have fun
If you can follow these two rules, DSF.com has a very bright and long future. And we'll have you to thank for it!
