Hypothetical question: If someone would screw a coma corrector in one of the slots of their filterslide, wouldn't one avoid the need to "tune" the coma corrector to one's eyepieces since the focuser will take care of the distance between the eyepiece and coma corrector?

Becoming a bit practical then: Were someone to take for example the Astro-Tech photo/visual corrector, or a Televue Paracorr and remove the eyepiece holder and just plug the 2" barrel with the optical system on the filterslide, would it work?

I am getting my first dob soon and at f5.3 I should be just fine without a coma corrector. However - out of curiosity - I have been reading about the damned things and now my curiosity got the best of me.

Anybody tried this?
