I observed this galaxy last night with my 20" under SQM 21.1 skies. My notes read:

At 427x visible as an elongated galaxy with a brighter central region and a stellar nucleus. On one side of the galaxy just off the major axis lies a bright star. Next to the stellar nucleus, toward that bright star, I see a foreground star which is barely brighter than the rest of the galaxy there. On the other side the major axis seems to end in a faint hook, though it may be a faint star lying there. On that same side I think I may occasionally see a faint glow light up off the major axis between the stellar nucleus and the hook, but this is a very doubtful observation.
